A wave of seismic activity has swept through several countries in the last two weeks.
During the last days the seismically active zones of our planet alternately manifest themselves. Thus Finland was struck by earthquakes from 3 a.m. till 7 a.m. Moreover, 10 earthquakes occurred in such a short time interval. Fortunately, they were not strong – the strongest shock reached two points on the Richter scale.
The strongest tremors were felt in the city of Kouvola, whose residents appealed en masse to the emergency services.
Mostly they complained about strange noises and moving objects in their apartments.
Fortunately, none of the residents were injured. In the region, the first earthquakes were recorded after 2011, but since then the land there shook a few dozen times a year. Fortunately, seismic activity is very weak and does not cause significant damage to local residents.
Since late December, a wave of earthquakes has swept through several regions. Thus devastating tremors occurred in Turkey, Croatia, the Philippines and Sicily.
