70-year-old Tennessee man charged with double homicide and considered dangerous

David Vowell, the 70-year-old Tennessee man accused of a double homicide, is considered “armed and dangerous,” investigators say.

The elderly Martin American was identified as a person of interest after the bodies of 26-year-old Chance Black and 25-year-old Zachary Grums were found at the north end of Rilfoot Lake in Obion County, the local FBI office said.

No details about the circumstances leading to the young men’s deaths have been released. Investigators have not said how the two men were killed, but they are looking for 70-year-old Howell in the case. That said, agents are warning the public that the elderly man may pose a greater danger.

Rilfoot Lake is a flooded forest of more than 15,000 acres that is part of Rilfoot Lake State Park, located in the northwest corner of the state. The park is known for activities such as fishing, boating, wildlife watching, and camping.
