Law enforcement officers found a can of gasoline, knives and a Bible in a bag that tentatively belonged to a gunman outside the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in New York City, according to the NYPD Twitter account.
NYPD Chief Dermot Shea said two semiautomatic weapons were found at the scene. Rope and wire were also found in the perpetrator’s bag, in addition to a Bible and a can of gasoline. According to Shea, the identity of the intruder was established: he had a rich criminal record.
To recall, an unidentified man opened fire on police officers outside the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in New York after the annual concert there had ended. Law enforcement officers fired 15 shots back, causing the attacker to be seriously wounded and die in hospital.
