A breathtaking video was captured by eyewitnesses who watched the tornado move.
A powerful storm has hit the coast of the Adriatic Sea, in the city of Trieste, which led to the formation of a tornado of incredible size.
Most often tornadoes occur in summer, but such a tornado in winter time is a very rare natural phenomenon for this region.
It is noted that the vortex, which formed over the sea, swept over the Gulf of Trieste and struck the city.
The natural element was accompanied by strong wind gusts, rain and lightning strikes. The storm off the Italian coast was so strong that even Slovenian coastal towns received hail.
It should be added that in Trieste a tornado swept through near an industrial area, but no buildings or shipping vessels were seriously damaged.
Forecasters noted that Italy has been hit by heavy rains with strong winds and snowfall over the past week.
