Researchers at Liverpool Royal University Hospital of England have discovered a new symptom that may be associated with the coronavirus COVID-19.
The results of the study were published in the journal Gastroenterology.
In particular, this symptom is manifested in people suffering from pancreatic disease.
A group of patients who are overweight or obese unexpectedly found general inflammation and high blood sugar and fat. This indicated pancreatitis, although the symptoms were not typical of this disease.
According to the researchers, this finding could help doctors diagnose pancreatitis in patients earlier.
