A scandal erupts in Portugal over the mass killing of wild animals

Sixteen hunters from Spain have massacred deer and wild boar in Portugal.

It is noted that the scandal erupted after it became known that the Spaniards killed about 500 deer and wild boars as a result of hunting. It is reported by the BBC.

So, in Portugal, hunting is not banned, but the men killed most of the deer population, which lived on a local farm 40 km from Lisbon.

Authorities learned of the mass slaughter after Spaniards posted photos of the slaughtered animals on their Twitter page.

In particular, hunters stacked the bodies of slaughtered animals in rows and began posing next to them.

Portuguese Environment Ministry officials said the mass slaughter arranged by Spanish hunters had nothing to do with hunting.

Officials called the men’s act a crime and demanded punishment.
