A soccer field-sized asteroid approaches Earth

A potentially dangerous asteroid 163348 (2002 NN4) the size of a football field will approach the Earth. It is reported by Space Reference.

The heavenly body was discovered in 2002. It is assumed that on June 6 at 6.20 Moscow time it will pass at a minimum distance from the planet. The distance between the asteroid and the planet will be 5.93 million kilometers. The minimum distance that a cosmic body approaches Earth will be 13 times greater than the distance from orbit to the moon.

The trajectory of the asteroid crosses the orbit of the Earth, so it is considered potentially dangerous. Although the asteroid is considered small in “absolute terms” (from 250 to 570 meters), it is more than 90 percent of other potentially dangerous bodies.

Earlier in March, astronomers from the Virtual Telescope project captured on video a potentially dangerous Earth asteroid (52768) 1998 OR2.
