Archaeologists have discovered in one of the ancient tombs on the territory of Seville a dagger made of rock crystal, made around 3000 BC.
It is noted that the dagger with a length of not more than 22 centimeters was found in the tomb of Montelirio, which archaeologists excavated in 2007-2010. It reports the portal ZME Science.
The dagger’s scabbard and hilt were made of ivory.
Together with the dagger, archaeologists were able to find 25 burials of people whose remains were dressed in shrouds and amber jewelry.
Researchers note that most of the tools of the time were made of stone, and therefore the value of the crystal dagger is difficult to overestimate.
