He published letters on Instagram.
So, Jeff Bezos showed a letter from a man named Dave. It contains racist remarks and profanity.
“You are the perfect moron. You are obviously not an idiot, otherwise you would not have the financial success that you have achieved. I made an order on the website of your company and saw your statement of support for Black Lives Matter. By promising to support a bunch of worthless ni*** ditches, you ruin your company. White America is already fed up with this n**** sh**. I canceled my order and I know for sure that I will not be the only one. Stay further than your position, and we will observe your profit and laugh at it. My business is done with you. F*** you, ***ing **it, ”Dave wrote in a letter.
In response to such a letter, Jeff Bezos said that he would only be happy to lose such a buyer as Dave.
“After my last post in my inbox there were several disgusting, but not surprising responses. This kind of hatred cannot be hidden in the shadows. It is important to put this on public display. This is just one example of a problem, ”Bezos said.
Another Amazon customer wrote to Bezos that she did not like to see Black Lives Matter on the site.
“It’s quite alarming to go to the Amazon website and see the Black Lives Matter sign if you provide services to millions of people, including me and my entire family, for our business needs and personal purchases. I am for everyone to express their opinion and defend their interests. But what your company posted on the website is very offensive to me, and I am sure that you will hear it from others – all lives matter. Where would your company be today if it were not for these lives that made orders on your site? ” – wrote a client named Macy.
She Bezos replied that she did not understand the meaning of the phrase Black Lives Matter.
“No, Macy, I do not agree with you that only black lives matter. Black Lives Matter does not mean that other lives do not matter. The Black Lives Matter Movement claims racism and the disproportionate risk that black people face in our law enforcement and justice systems. I have a 20 year old son. I don’t worry that they might beat him to death if they detain him once. But black parents cannot say the same. ”
The head of Amazon stressed that his support for the Black Lives Matter movement will not change.
This is not the first time that Bezos has published screenshots of letters from customers who are unhappy that the Black Lives Matter banner has appeared on the first page of Amazon.
It was previously reported that Amazon will donate $ 10 million to organizations supporting justice and equality.
