The US Army soldier was accused of transmitting secret data to an extremist organization in order to commit the massacre of colleagues. This was reported on the website of the US Department of Justice.
According to the investigation, Ethan Melzer, 22, was preparing a plan to attack his own unit because of ideological and racial hatred. He passed on secret information about the location of his unit to members of the Order of the Nine Corners organization, which is known for its neo-Nazi and satanic beliefs. Meltzer was also accused of collaborating with Al-Qaida, banned in Russia. In correspondence with the terrorists, the soldier said that he was ready to die during the attack. It is noted that the leak concerned American troops stationed abroad.
The soldier was arrested on June 10. Meltzer pleaded guilty, official charges will be brought against him later.
The US Department of Justice believes that a soldier was recruited in 2019, a year after the start of military service. The FBI found out about Meltzer’s plans to carry out a terrorist attack in May 2020.
The Order of the Nine Corners is a British extremist organization that has cells in other countries. Members of the group have anti-Semitic and satanic beliefs. In particular, they sympathize with Adolf Hitler and Osama bin Laden.
