An earthquake hit the coast of Crete

Seismologists recorded an earthquake of magnitude 5.1 in the region of the Greek island of Crete. This was reported by TASS with reference to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center.

According to experts, the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 40 km. It was located at a distance of 78 km from the city of Heraklion, where more than almost 140 thousand people live.

No information was received on casualties, destruction or the threat of the tsunami.
