COVID-19 disease can lead to the development of Guillain-Barré syndrome. Another dangerous consequence from contracting the virus has been revealed.
According to a study by scientists from the University of Birmingham, the antibodies produced by the body that has had a coronavirus infection are similar to those that cause heart and skin disease. Muscle weakness and pain, numbness in the hands and feet, and coordination problems have been called the first symptoms of the disease.
Guillain-Barré syndrome is an autoimmune polyradiculoneuropathy that is manifested by autonomic disorders and sensory disturbances.
