Portland continues to go through rough times with another night of unrest in the city. The shooting was opened near the site of the new protests.
Police arrested two suspects on the spot, who opened fire in downtown Oregon’s capital. One person was injured and is in a hospital in a stable condition. It is unclear if the shooting was related to the protests that have been taking place in Portland for the 60th consecutive night, but the incident occurred near the gathering place of the demonstrators.
Police also report that a bag with loaded rifles and Molotov cocktails was found in a nearby park.
A few weeks ago, police broke up activists who were trying to organize an autonomous zone like the one in Seattle. Federal security forces have been brought into the Oregon capital to suppress riots.
Over the weekend, protesters in Seattle staged massive destruction of buildings and arson of cars.
