During the protests in major cities in America, the number of detainees has already reached 10 thousand.
“More than 10 thousand participants in mass protests against racism and police arbitrariness were detained throughout the country,” analysts from Washington say. Most activists were arrested in Los Angeles – 25% of the total. Many were also detained in New York, Dallas, and Philadelphia.
Most people were imprisoned for disorderly conduct, vandalism, minor offenses and non-observance of curfews imposed in 40 cities.
In the protests that swept the country after the death of African-American George Floyd (George Floyd) at the hands of the police, 13 people died.
