Beyoncé demands justice for Breonne Taylor, murdered by police in her own home

American singer Beyoncé Knowles-Carter posted an open letter on her website to Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron. In it, she demands the indictment of the police who killed the African-American Breonna Taylor at her home.

“Three months passed – and there were no arrests, and not a single officer was fired,” she wrote. Taylor, an ambulance doctor, was shot dead by police during a drug raid at her home in Louisville on March 13. According to a lawsuit filed by her family, nothing was found in Taylor’s house, but the girl was killed. Police used a “no-knock” search warrant, which has recently been banned.

Officers John Mattingly, Miles Cosgrove and Brett Hankison have been imposed an administrative penalty, but family and activists across America are facing criminal penalties. None of the officers was accused of Taylor’s death – while the girl received 8 bullets.

Beyonce demands justice for Taylor and her family, as well as transparency throughout the investigation.
