Biden and Harris win Time magazine's Man of the Year award

The American magazine Time announced “Man of the Year”. In 2020, the magazine awarded the status to two contenders at once – U.S. presidential candidate Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, according to the magazine’s website.

The weekly’s editorial board considers Biden to be the president-elect of the United States. The journalists noted that the Democrat takes the COVID-19 pandemic very seriously. The piece says that Biden and Harris were once rivals but are now partners. The politicians “share the belief that responsive leadership can restore lost solidarity.”

“The Biden-Harris ticket represents a kind of historic direction. “‘Man of the Year’ is not just about last year, it’s about where we’re headed,” the publication stresses.

As a reminder, the U.S. presidential election was held on November 3. According to the latest data, Biden is ahead of incumbent head of state Donald Trump both by the number of American votes and by the number of electoral votes. The Democrat has already declared victory in the election. If Biden is president, Kamala Harris will become vice president.
