Biden to end construction of a wall on the border with Mexico

Democrat Joe Biden, who was announced by the American press as President-elect of the United States, said that when he takes office, not a single foot of the wall will be built on the Mexican border, which was so advocated by his rival and incumbent President Donald Trump.

Fox News recalled that building a wall on the southern border has become one of the top priorities of Trump’s rule. In January 2020, 100 miles (161 km) were built, by October the wall had grown to 400 miles (643 km). The Trump administration planned to build another 50 miles (80 km) by the end of the year.

“His obsession with building the wall does nothing to solve security problems, while costing taxpayers billions of dollars,” says Biden. He stressed that most of the smuggling from Mexico comes through legal ports.

Therefore, there is reason to believe that when Biden comes to power, he will soften the migration policy. It will smooth things over and try to balance the interests of different representatives of American society.
