Joe Biden wrote the first message from the U.S. president’s @POTUS Twitter account. Social media spokesman Nick Pacchilio confirmed that the White House’s departmental accounts have been handed over to the new president’s administration.
“When it comes to dealing with the crises we face, there’s no time to waste. That’s why I’m heading to the Oval Office today to get right to work, taking decisive action and providing immediate help to American families,” Biden wrote.
The account also changed its name from President Trump to President Biden and its avatar and screensaver photo. Other departmental accounts, including the White House @WhiteHouse, Vice President @VP, First Lady @FLOTUS and Press Secretary @PressSec, have also changed their look and description.
