Biden's advisor names biggest challenge to U.S. national security

The greatest challenge to the national security of the United States is “the need to get our own house in order. That is the view shared by Biden’s national security adviser Jake Sullivan at an American Institute of Peace event. The conversation was broadcast on the organization’s official YouTube channel.

According to Sullivan, the United States is threatened by the coronavirus pandemic, the economic crisis and the effects of climate change. He added that the United States faces threats to a constitutional republic and a deeply divided society as a whole.

During the event, an adviser to President Joe Biden also said that relations between the new U.S. administration and Russia will be complicated and will require a lot of effort from Washington. According to him, the new U.S. president has chosen a cold-blooded, firm and practical approach to relations with Moscow.
