Biden’s lead over Trump rises to 14 points after debate

Democrat Joe Biden’s lead over Republican President Donald Trump has nearly doubled since Tuesday’s presidential debate. Voters by a 2-to-1 margin said Biden had the best temper to be president, a new poll by NBC News and the Wall Street Journal showed.

The poll was conducted two days after the September 29 controversial debate, but before Trump contracted the coronavirus and was admitted to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

The Democratic nominee is now 14 points ahead of Trump among registered voters, up from his 8 point lead in the previous poll ahead of the debate. This rise in voter support was the highest for Biden in this campaign. Its previous high in July was 11 points.
