Bill Gates predicted COVID-19 vaccine availability

Microsoft founder Bill Gates predicted that by the spring of next year six manufacturing companies may be ready to use the coronavirus vaccine.

According to him, vaccines from AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Novavax, Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna may soon be approved. At the same time, Gates did not name the sixth company producing the vaccine.

He pointed out that an important task of the world community after the preparations are ready will be their equal distribution in both developed and developing countries. Gates also expressed the hope that the vaccine will be available next year to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic by 2022.

The channel notes that the Gates Foundation and his wife Melinda are already working with the India Serum Institute to begin production and distribution of AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine.

Earlier Bloomberg columnist Peter Coy said that the emergence of dozens of different coronavirus vaccines from different manufacturers had jeopardized the victory over the pandemic. The variety of drugs triggers an economic phenomenon known as the “choice paradox”. As a result, many may abandon the idea of vaccination altogether.

Vaccine manufacturers Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca started the process of registering their vaccines a few weeks ago. The first study of Novavax vaccine showed that 56 volunteers had a high level of antibodies to COVID-19 without dangerous side effects. The drug Johnson & Johnson is also in the testing phase.
