Microsoft founder Bill Gates and co-chairman of the Bill Gates Charitable Foundation has been vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
“One of the benefits of being 65 is that I can get the COVID-19 vaccine. I got my first dose this week and I feel great. Thanks to all the scientists, trial participants, regulators and frontline health care workers – for leading us to this point,” Gates wrote.
In December, it was reported how Gates predicted that six manufacturing companies could be ready with coronavirus vaccines by this spring. He pointed out that an important task for the global community once the drugs are ready will be to distribute them evenly in both developed and developing countries. The foundation, founded by Gates and his wife Melinda, is working on developments that will allow the vaccine to be produced in India.
After the first cases of infection in China, conspiracy theories spread that Gates was involved in the creation of the virus. According to this version, the coronavirus is patented by the Pirbright Institute, which is partially funded by the foundation of the creator of Microsoft Corporation.
