In Barcelona, Formula 1 racing organizers gave a blind fan a ride in a two-seater car.
An ardent racing fan, Sharaf-Eddin Ayt-Tales, lost his sight 9 years ago. This weekend, during the Spanish Grand Prix, he was allowed to sit in the cockpit of a racing car.
He traveled with a special F1 Experiences program. The pilot sits in the front seat, and the racing fan in the back. Ait-Thales is not the first to feel the power of racing cars in this way, but he was the first blind passenger of the project. Ait-Thales dreamed about this since childhood.
