Chinese researchers have developed a “smart” fabric capable of cooling the human body.
The authors are engineers Ma Yaoguang of Zhejiang University and Tao Guangming of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The fabric is developed from synthetic fibers that include titanium dioxide and polylactic acid nanoparticles.
Characteristics of the fabric: the thickness of the fabric is 0.55 millimeters; the mirror effect of the material reflects infrared and ultraviolet radiation;
cools the human body by 5 degrees;
“Despite the fact that the fabric looks like an ordinary shirt, optically it is a mirror,” state the developers.
