Representatives of China criticized the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump for trying to persuade Israel to abandon Chinese investments.
The Chinese embassy in Israel said the US allegations were absurd. This was reported by The Times Of Israel.
During his visit to Israel, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tried to convince Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that China is an unreliable partner.
Pompeo asked Netanyahu to review his attitude towards Chinese investment in the Israeli economy.
The Chinese embassy also said in a statement that the Israelis should be well aware that the Coronavirus pandemic is accompanied by grim conspiracies and a search for the guilty.
In October, under U.S. pressure, the Israel Security Cabinet announced the establishment of a new advisory group to analyze foreign investment in the country.
