The National Health Commission has registered 57 new cases of coronavirus infection in China. It is reported by the Associated Press.
This is the largest increase in the number of cases in the last two months. Of these, 36 cases were detected in Beijing, where an outbreak of coronavirus was recorded in one of the largest wholesale food markets, Xinfadi.
Earlier, the head of the Beijing region Fengtai Chu Junwei announced the introduction of a wartime regime in it due to the outbreak of coronavirus in the local market. At first, severe restrictions were imposed in 11 residential complexes located around the market.
The market was closed on Saturday, June 13, after tests of 45 of the 517 people who visited it gave positive results for coronavirus. As the manager explained, the virus was found on a board that is used to cut salmon.
The source of the new type of coronavirus is Wuhan, namely the market where wild animals were sold. The first cases of the disease were recorded in December 2019, although the South China Morning Post, citing government documents, claims that it became known about the unusual coronavirus back in November.
