Most Canadians consider U.S. President Donald Trump to be racist. This is evidenced by a survey conducted by CityTV and Abacus Data.
84% of respondents believe that Donald Trump is a racist. 57% of them said it was “definitely” true, 27% said it was “likely.” 9% of respondents said that Trump is “probably not racist,” 7% of respondents do not see such a trait in the American president.
50% of Canadians said that President Donald Trump’s actions sparked an outbreak of racism against black people. 31% of respondents believe that this is “probably so”, 11% said that it was “probably not.”
62% of Canadians said they were “sure” that there was systemic racism in the United States, 22% said they were “almost sure” of this, 12% of respondents said it was “possible.” 3% of Canadians believe that there is no systemic racism in the United States. 66% of Canadians believe that discrimination is “widespread” in the US, 24% believe that inequality is “fairly widespread.” 2% think that discrimination is not common.
According to the survey, 65% of Canadians believe that discrimination is common in Canada. 61% of respondents believe that systemic racism is prevalent in Canada. 29% of them believe in the existence of systemic racism, 30% of respondents said that systemic racism “can be” spread.
9% of Canadians believe that in Canada there is no systemic racism, reports the publication City News.
