CNN: Blinken may visit Ukraine in May

According to the broadcaster, the visit could alleviate Kiev’s concerns about a possible Biden-Putin summit.

Joe Biden’s administration is preparing to send Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to Ukraine in May.

Citing an unnamed source in the Ukrainian government close to the ongoing talks, the network reported that the visit could ease Kiev’s concerns about a possible meeting between President Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin this summer following meetings with G7 leaders and NATO allies.

Blinken’s visit to Ukraine will provide an opportunity to discuss a possible meeting between Biden and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky when the U.S. president is in Europe this summer.

The secretary of state has already spoken with his Ukrainian counterpart, Dmytro Kuleba, several times, including earlier this month at a meeting in Brussels.
