Scientists from the Marine Hydrophysical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences have discovered that a dangerous slime that has seized the Sea of Marmara is being carried by the current into the Aegean Sea.
As scientists note, the slime moves to the Greek island of Thasos. At the same time, the substance, which reached the Aegean Sea, is less dense than in the Sea of Marmara.
So far, researchers do not know exactly how the slime formed on the surface of the water.
Earlier, attention to the thick layer of mucus, also called “sea snot,” was drawn to Turkey. The slime slick began to grow recently. This phenomenon is associated with environmental pollution.
