Democratic Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal has tested positive for COVID-19.
The Democrat blamed supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump who stormed the Capitol for her infection with the coronavirus. In her opinion, Republican Party supporters were guilty of brutality because they were not wearing masks. The congresswoman stressed that she would not rest until she did everything to oust Trump.
“Too many Republicans have refused to take the [COVID-19] pandemic and the virus seriously, and by doing so, they put everyone around them in danger. Just hours after President Trump unleashed a deadly attack on our Capitol, our country, and our democracy, many Republicans still refused to take the minimum precautions about COVID-19 and just wear a damn mask in crowded rooms,” Jayapal wrote.
The storming of the U.S. Capitol building took place on Jan. 6 during a rally of supporters of the incumbent who did not recognize the results of the November vote that elected Democrat Joe Biden as president. The rallies led to clashes with police. Five people were killed and dozens detained.
The Democratic Party of the USA blamed the current leader of the country for the incident. In connection with this, the U.S. House of Representatives of Congress published a resolution on impeachment and removal of the President from office. Trump himself, in a conversation with House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy, partially admitted his guilt for the riots in Washington last week.
