Details of the cancelled S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2

Scheduled for 2021 game series S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was supposed to have an open world, multiplayer and go on consoles. This is reported in a publication on the Ap-Pro community forum.

Information about the cancelled game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 game was posted on the forum. The archive contained information about the storyline of the title, gameplay features, characters, weapons and other details of the game. In addition, the insiders published its engine. Leaked online unfinished title was to be called “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: The Return.” The game describes the story unfolding five years after the events of the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

According to the disclosed information, the creators of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 wrote two versions of the synopsis. According to one of them, the protagonist of the original Shooter realizes that he must return to the Zone. There, the protagonist is trying to find one of the characters of the first part of the series – Doctor, from which he learns that the specialists of the Research Institute of the Chernobyl Anomalous Zone (NIICHAZ) made progress in the study of Chernobyl anomalies, but they need help.

Judging by the description, the unreleased game was planned to have an open world and multiplayer for 32 people. The story campaign was designed for 10 hours, along with side quests – 30 hours. The ability to create your own faction was added, there were new locations, anomalies and mutants.

As conceived by the creators, the game was supposed to debut on PC, Xbox and PlayStation 3. The reason for the cancellation of the game is not disclosed.

The first part of the popular series from the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World – “S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl” – was released in 2007. In 2008 and 2009 the studio released sequels – “S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky” and “S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: The Call of Pripyat.

At the moment GSC Game World is working on the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. In April it became known that the title will not be released on PlayStation consoles, as the developers have certain agreements with Microsoft. Indicative release dates for the title are not disclosed.
