Scheduled for the fall, Apple smartphones will receive support for a new data standard.
Journalists refer to analysts at Barclays, which in its report talks about the partnership between Apple and Skyworks Solutions. The latter is a major U.S. manufacturer of semiconductors. The declassified report contains information that the new iPhones will receive support for the WiFi 6E standard. Experts describe in detail the likely transition of Apple and Samsung to the new standard, explaining that this will benefit some in the industry.
The authors noted that Wi-Fi 6E is an improved version of the Wi-Fi 6 standard, which the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 series of smartphones support. The new technology offers faster data speeds and allows for 6 gigahertz. Given that most smartphones and home electronics transmit data at 2.4-5 gigahertz, using Wi-Fi 6E will increase bandwidth and reduce interference.
Earlier, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) allowed the use of Wi-Fi 6E in the 6 gigahertz band without a license. In Russia, the corresponding standard and frequencies are occupied by radio communication facilities and radio relay lines.
One of the first smartphones with Wi-Fi 6E support on the market was the flagship Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. The model was presented at an event on January 14, its price was at least 109,990 rubles.
Earlier, Chinese sources reported that Apple has decided to postpone the release of the iPhone 13 until 2022. In the fall of 2021, the company will present a series of devices iPhone 12s, which will be slightly different from the smartphones of the iPhone 12 line.
