According to the Washington Post, employees link the infection to President Trump’s election tour.
According to the Washington Post, more than 130 members of the U.S. Secret Service, particularly those in charge of protecting the country’s top leadership, have contracted a coronavirus infection or have been in close contact with infected colleagues.
Anonymous sources reported that the outbreak was the result of Trump’s massive campaign rallies and trips around the country. Dozens of Secret Service employees were involved in each of the events to ensure the safety of the president.
As a result, about 10% of the secret service’s employees were ordered to leave for quarantine.
Recall that during the election campaign it became known that a number of White House staff, as well as Donald Trump himself, fell ill with COVID-19.
The US Secret Service refused to comment on the situation.
