Eight-year-old girl shot dead during protests in Atlanta

During an ongoing protest in Atlanta, an 8-year-old girl was killed near the Rayshard Brooks Memorial. This was the last straw, the mayor gave the order to clean the territory.

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms told protesters to “clear” the area near the place where Richard Brooks was killed by police last month. Her order was made public after an 8-year-old girl was killed near a gathering place for demonstrators. “You shot a child! Enough is enough, ”Bottoms said at a press conference.

Eight-year-old Secoriea Turner was shot dead on Saturday night by a stray bullet while driving in a car with her mom and girlfriend. The girl’s mother tried to call in a parking lot near the barricades at the Brooks Memorial. One of the protesters started firing at the car. Sekoria died on the spot.

Garrett Rolfe, a former Atlanta officer who shot Brooks in a parking lot, was charged with a felony, aggravated assault with deadly weapons and other crimes. Brooks took a stun gun from the police and fled when he was shot in the back.
