Elon Musk is going to build a new Tesla plant in Asia, but not in China

The head of the American automobile company Tesla, Elon Musk, hinted on Twitter about the possible construction of another plant in Asia, this time, not in China.

Tesla is currently building new plants near Berlin in Germany and in Austin, Texas. In addition, the company is also expanding a factory in Shanghai and production facilities at factories in Nevada and Fremont.

Answering a question from a Twitter user last weekend about Tesla’s possible plans to expand its presence in Asia outside of China, the company’s CEO said: “Yes, but first we need to finish Giga Berlin (factory near Berlin) and the second US Giga (factory in Austin) to support the eastern half of North America. ”

Although Musk confirmed that the new plant is listed in Tesla’s plans, he did not give any details about the possibility of building in Asia. Users have already rushed to suggest that it could be India or Malaysia. People also propose building a Tesla gigafactory in Japan, South Korea, Australia or Canada.

The Director General also did not indicate the start date for new construction after completion of two ongoing projects. However, this can happen very quickly, based on the fact that both plants under construction should begin production by the end of next year.
