Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan registered on the messenger Telegram, abandoning WhatsApp because of the updated user agreement.
“Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is on Telegram! Thank you for subscribing to our Telegram channel. Today we also opened a new channel on another BIP platform,” reads the channel, which, incidentally, has already received a verification badge confirming the identity of the owner.
The Turkish leader dedicated one of his first posts to the cat. In the picture posted, the pet is in the foreground and Erdoğan is in the background with other politicians.
It is noted that the transition to the Russian messenger is due to the fact that WhatsApp included in the new user agreement such items as access to phone numbers, transaction information and IP-addresses. However, later the messenger administration made an official statement and reassured users. Nevertheless, people around the world began to prefer Telegram. According to Pavel Durov, only in the last three days 25 million people installed the application.
