In the coming days Israel will be hit by a wave of wild heat. Meteorologists warn of rising temperatures and the UV index, which will reach extremes.
Thus, according to meteorologists, Sunday and Monday will be the highest temperature ever. In Jerusalem it will reach 35 degrees Celsius, in Tel Aviv 31 degrees, and in Eilat the temperature will stop at 44 degrees. It is expected that the heat will begin to fall in the middle of next week.
Israeli Health Ministry urged residents, particularly elderly citizens and those with chronic diseases, if possible, to avoid the heat and sun, drink more water and stay in air-conditioned rooms as long as possible.
The health ministry noted that despite the heat, recommendations for the coronavirus, such as wearing masks indoors, should be followed.
