Facebook extends ban on political advertising in the US for a month

Administrators of the social network Facebook extended for another month the ban on placing political ads in the American segment of the internet.

This was reported to CNBC by a representative of Facebook.

“The temporary pause in advertising on politics and social issues remains in effect in the United States as part of our efforts to protect the election,” a Facebook spokesperson explained.

The company added that “advertisers should prepare to extend” the ban on advertising for another month. At the same time, the representative of the social network did not rule out that “the opportunity to restore advertising may come earlier.”

Since October 27, the company’s platforms have been banned from placing political ads. This measure was taken in order to combat the spread of disinformation and attempts to indirectly influence the mood of American voters.
