A Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Dragon cargo spacecraft has lifted off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, to the International Space Station. This is the fourth flight of the reusable carrier. It was used for two manned missions and the launch of a satellite.
The spacecraft will deliver equipment for orbital experiments and food, including fruits and vegetables, to the ISS. The descent vehicle is expected back in about a month – it will deliver materials from experiments to Earth.
After the second stage was launched into orbit, the first successfully returned to Earth. We should add that due to weather conditions, the Falcon 9 launch, scheduled for August 28, had to be postponed.
