Federal judge’s son shot dead in New Jersey

The son of a federal judge is killed after a shooter opened fire on a New Jersey home.

The son of New Jersey District Court Judge Esther Salas has died after a gunman opened fire at her home in Brunswick. Salas ‘colleague says state judge Frida Wolfson, Salas’ 20-year-old son, Daniel Anderl, was killed in the attack and Mark Anderl’s husband was wounded. Salas herself was unharmed.

US Marshals and the FBI are investigating the tragedy. Initial law enforcement reports indicate that Daniel Anderl opened the door and his father was right behind him. A burst of shots fell on them, and after the shooters disappeared. There is evidence that the attacker was wearing a FedEx uniform.

Law enforcement officials were unaware of any threats against the judge, a source told CNN. Now investigators are trying to establish the motive for the attack and identify the shooter.
