Three people were killed and five others were injured at a graduation party in Kendall, Florida, according to Miami-Dade police.
The graduation party was ending at the mall when two cars, a dark Chevy Malibu and a white Toyota Camry, pulled into the parking lot and unknown assailants began firing into the crowd, Police Chief Freddy Ramirez said.
Three people were killed, including a woman who was a Florida corrections officer, Ramirez said. The wounded remain in stable condition and have been taken to local hospitals.
“Our condolences go out to her and her family, as well as the victims here at the scene. The magnitude of the firearms problem affects everyone in the community,” Ramirez said.
A week ago, a mass shooting in the Miami area killed three people and injured 20 others.
