The Royal Danish Air Force will be the first in the world to receive electric aircrafts Pipistrel Velis Electro of the Slovenian company Pipistrel.
About this informs Ministry of Defense of Denmark.
Two pilots will be able to be in the electric aircraft. Delivery will take place in autumn 2021. It will be produced by French company Green Aerolease. The electric planes will undergo a two-year test period in the Danish Air Force.
“Everyone has a responsibility to contribute to the climate transition, this also applies to the military. That is why we decided to purchase electric planes for our air force. In particular, they will be used for pilot training,” said Danish Defense Minister Trine Bramsen.
