Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now expecting their second child. The couple will have a girl, and she should be born very soon. Not surprisingly, bookmakers are already actively taking bets on the name of the future heiress.
However, the name for the child may not be chosen among the most popular options: among them were Diana, Elizabeth, Alesandria and others.
According to the publication, back in 2019, the Sussex’s voiced a possible name for their daughter. While talking to British Schoolchildren about possible name options, one of the children suggested naming the baby Amy if she had a girl: “I asked her if she would name her baby Amy if she had a girl, and she said, ‘It’s a really pretty name, I like it. We should think about it,” a student named Megan Dudley told reporters.
Harry also seemed to like the name Lily. During the walk, he reportedly asked the parents of a girl named Lily how to spell the name correctly.
Meghan and Harry were also curious about names for the baby during their tour of Australia: “We were given a long list of names from everyone, we’re going to sit down and look at them,” Markle said at the time.
There’s also a third, more unexpected option. Harry is willing to name his daughter a similar name: He thinks Harriet is “a great name.”
Recall, among the polls so far the leading name is Diana (after Prince Harry’s mother). The couple can choose this name as their first main name, or one of them. That’s what Prince William and Kate Middleton did, naming their daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
