Ontario Premier Doug Ford intends to lift the 14-day mandatory quarantine for everyone who comes to the province, reports the publication Narcity.
Ford suggested to check out visitors on the presence of COVID-19 instead of quarantine.
“Let’s check them when they get off the plane and check them again in five or six days,” the Prime Minister said on Monday.
Ford said it would need the Federal government’s help to change the rules. If the government does not support the initiative, Ontario will act “alone”.
“If they do not want to do this, we will act alone, even if it is not our jurisdiction,” the Prime Minister said.
In late October, Ford said that rapid tests for COVID-19 will soon be available in Ontario. The Premier hopes the tests will be used across the province.
