Former adviser to trump decided to write a rebuttal book on collusion with Russia

Former adviser to US President Donald Trump Roger Stone decided to write a book to refute rumors of collusion with Russia. His words are quoted by The Hill.

The ex-adviser said that he plans to support Trump during the election race. This is due to the fact that the president’s decision to reduce Stone’s prison sentence “saved his life”: he is an asthmatic, therefore he feared for his health because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the ex-assistant, he is ready to do anything to help the American leader. “I’m going to write a book about this whole story to put an end to the myth of collusion with Russia once and for all,” he said.

The fact that Trump reduced the prison term to his former adviser, it became known on July 11. In this regard, the president was accused of corruption.

In April 2019, the full text of the report of Special Prosecutor Robert Muller on Russia’s intervention in the 2016 US presidential election was published. According to his findings, Moscow really influenced them – in particular, the Russian GRU (GU) transferred to the WikiLeaks materials of the US Democratic Party. The subject of the investigation was also a possible connection between Trump and the Russian government. The authors of the report concluded that there was no conspiracy between Trump and Russia.

On January 25, 2019, Stone was arrested on seven criminal charges. On the same day, he was released on bail in the amount of 250 thousand dollars. He was accused of giving false testimony (five times), obstructing the investigation by the intelligence committee of the House of Representatives, and attempting to put pressure on witnesses.

The US presidential election is scheduled for November 3. Presumably, incumbent President Donald Trump will be elected from the Republican Party, Democrats will support former Vice President Joe Biden.
