France opposed the block policy in relations with China

France is not going to follow the logic of block policy in its relations with China. This was stated by the French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, commenting on the prospects of relations between Europe and China in the light of the upcoming change of the American administration.

“In relations with China, we do not want to follow the logic of ‘block against block,'” the minister said in an interview with Le Journal du Dimanche, the full version of which was published on Sunday. According to Le Drian, “Europe views this country as a partner, a competitor and a systemic rival at the same time.”
