French hostage-taker and his wife found dead

Gendarmes found the director of a business in the commune of Domont near Paris and his wife, whom he had taken hostage, dead.

According to the police, the man first killed his wife and then killed himself. He kept the hostages for three hours, all the while the law enforcers were negotiating with the man.

As the newspaper notes, the couple was in the process of divorce. It was not excluded that the quarrel between the spouses arose on domestic grounds. Previously, the woman had already gone to the police with complaints of domestic violence by her husband.

On the evening of December 17, it was reported that the armed director of the company took several people hostage. Two of them were injured. The negotiations were conducted by the anti-terrorist unit of the French Gendarmerie (GIGN).
