In the service Google Meet appeared a limit on the duration of free group calls. Now calls involving more than 3 people will stop after 60 minutes of conversation.
Until September 30, Google promised not to impose limits on the duration of conversations, and then the deadline was transferred twice. The deadline for the introduction of restrictions was June 30, 2021. However, for a couple of weeks the service continued to work as usual. On July 13, the restrictions came into force. Participants will receive a warning 5 minutes before the end of the 60 minutes.
At the same time, calls for 3 or less participants will remain without restrictions, the maximum duration of the call for them will be 24 hours.
On this step Google went to integrate the service in the corporate environment. The innovations are designed to encourage companies to start using the paid version of the service Google Meet.
