Google sued due to illegal user data collection

Boies Schiller Flexner sues Google Alphabet Inc. The company was accused of illegally collecting user data, even if they disabled the relevant options in their accounts.

Google has been charged with violating federal wiretap and state privacy laws.

Lawyers for Boies Schiller Flexner explained that a subsidiary of Google’s IT company was collecting user data on what kind of news and advertising messages they were interested in. Data was collected even when the user turned off the tracking function in the settings.

User data was collected through the Firebase program.

Now Google is required to make changes to the algorithm of the program.
