A violent storm hit Burkburnett, Texas. A hailstorm the size of a large grapefruit fell in the city and a tornado hit some places, according to the National Weather Service.
In northern Texas, locals removed hailstones more than 10-12 centimeters in diameter. The storm passed along the Red River valley, northwest of Fort Worth. According to the National Weather Service, the cooling tower video was sent by several local families and rainfall quickly melted after the storm.
A hailstorm this size is deadly for anyone who might have been outdoors, as the ice shards fall with great force. Young and local crops have been affected by the hailstorm, but there is no evidence of injured people.
The main reasons for such a large hailstorm are extreme heat, cold front coming and humidity.
